Steven is a professional puppeteer involved in the application of puppetry to entertainment, education, industry and advertising. With the assistance of woodcarvers, painters and costumers, he has designed and built a remarkable variety of more than 400 puppets. Steven studied his craft with Master Puppeteer, Bil Baird, and in 1977 he formed The Puppet Company. Subsequently, he has worked on numerous commercials and films. He has developed educational programs utilizing puppets to teach nutrition and math. From 1988 to 1998 he owned and operated an accaimed theater at Union Square in Manhattan for which he created numerous original productions that received great reviews in the press and and had a loyal following. Besides creating his own works for puppet theater, he has performed on television in "The Book of Pooh," and "Bear in the Big Blue House." Additionally, he is an accomplished pianist with a degree in Music from the University of Pennsylvania. Steven is a past President of the Puppetry Guild of Greater New York, and also served as Editor of the organization's newsletter PuppetMaster. He is a member of Puppeteers of America and has served on the Board of Directors of UNIMA-USA, the international organization of Puppeteers.
